A full-scale vibration analysis was performed to isolate the issues not only the fan, but the entire cabinet.
Using specialized equipment, Arctic’s trained technicians studied the vibration characteristics of the equipment. After a sinusoidal wave form review and visual inspection diagnostics showed that the fan side framing was deteriorating, and perhaps there was multiple sources that could lead to dynamic stresses and vibration.
It was also found that the motor mounted on the outside of the cabinet and the long belt pull had fatigued the support structure.
